Wooden scultpures in Oakmere Park

Wooden acorn sculpture Wooden swan sculpture

At the end of last year the Tree of Life in Oakmere Park had to be removed as it had become rotten. As a replacement three new sculptures representing key features within the park were installed. An acorn symbolising the trees that make up 'Oak' mere, a swan - as found on the two lakes and a fish. Hand carved by a local sculptor the works were installed this summer and surrounding flower beds have been replanted in different themes; autumnal colours and leaves around the acorn and grasses to look like a nest around the swan. Unfortunately the fish has been stolen so we are looking to replace this with a new fish design.
